Better use of the wall safe 1. Identify the location of two studs using a stud finder. The exact horizontal locations won't be precise, but don't worry about that. Just mark where you want the top and bottom inner lip of the safe to be (i.e. two horizontal lines - one on top and one on bottom). Use a sheetrock saw to locate the studs and draw your box on the wall starting from the top or bottom lines. Then saw right down against your studs until you reach one of the horizontal lines. 2. Remove any insulation from the wall and ensure that your cut lines are straight. 3. Place the safe into the hole you just cut and, using a pencil, mark the studs through the screw holes in the side of the safe. Drill out the holes you just marked. Use a drill bit that is a tad smaller than the shank of the provided wood screws to make it easier to screw in the screws. 4. Place the safe back in the hole and use a ratchet to fasten the wood screws.
